Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
Real Headshot ("the app") is published by Jong Woo Kim, an individual developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with information on your device and what, if anything, leaves it.
1. Your photos and face data
- Photos you take or open in the app are processed entirely on your device.
- We never upload your photos, finished headshots or face data to our servers or to anyone else. We do not run a server that could receive them.
- To frame, light and refine your photo, the app finds your face and separates you from the background on your device. This information is used only while you edit and is not sent off your device.
- The app does not create a new face or replace your face. We do not use your photos to train any model.
- Finished photos are saved only where you choose (for example your photo library) or shared only with the apps and people you choose.
2. What the app sends over the internet
The app itself sends no photos and no personal information. The following connections can happen:
| What | Where it goes | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| On-device face detection and background separation (Google ML Kit) | Google's ML Kit libraries run on your device. According to Google, they may send Google diagnostic data about how the ML Kit features perform and are used (such as latency, device model and OS version, and a per-installation identifier that is not meant to identify you or your device), and may download model updates. Your images and the results are not sent. See Google's ML Kit terms. | |
| Spoken shooting guidance | Your phone's text-to-speech service | The app speaks short, fixed guidance sentences (for example "Move a little closer"). It uses a voice stored on your phone when one is available. On some Android phones, if no on-device voice exists for your language, the phone's speech service may use an online voice; only that guidance sentence is sent, never a photo. You can turn voice guidance off in the camera screen. |
| In-app notices | realheadshot.app (our website) | At most once a day the app downloads a small notice file from our website. The request carries no photo, account, cookie or device information. Like any website, our web host may keep standard connection logs (such as IP address and time). |
| App update check | Apple App Store or Google Play | The app asks the store whether a newer version is available so it can offer an update. |
| Purchases | Apple App Store or Google Play | See section 5. |
3. Information kept on your device
- Your settings (such as language), a list of recent photos you made, purchase status, and team-mode information (team name, the names you type in and remaining team seats).
- This information stays on your device. We do not receive it.
- Deleting the app deletes it. If your Android phone's system backup is turned on, Android may include app data in your Google device backup and restore it when you reinstall.
4. Camera and photo library
The app asks for camera access to take your headshot and for photo library access to open photos you choose and save finished photos. The app does not use the microphone. You can change these permissions at any time in your phone's settings.
5. Purchases
Payments are handled by Apple or Google. We never see or store your card details. The store tells the app which product you bought so the purchase works, and we may see sales reports from the store that do not identify you to us by name unless you contact us.
6. No accounts, ads or tracking
- No sign-up or account is needed.
- The app shows no ads and contains no advertising or analytics tools of our own.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell or share personal information.
7. Other people in your photos
Please only photograph and edit people who agree to it. In team mode, the photos and names stay on the phone used for the shoot.
8. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your choices and rights
Because your photos and app data stay on your device, you control them directly: you can delete photos, clear the app's data or delete the app. If you email us, we use your email only to reply and delete it when it is no longer needed. You may ask us at any time what we hold about you or ask us to delete it.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
